You do not have to be moving yet. A good share of what we answer comes from people who have been in the same house for decades and want to know what they are dealing with before they commit to anything.

Then this is the right moment, even with no date in sight. A survey costs nothing and it turns a vague dread about "all the stuff" into a measured number and a short list of what actually needs deciding.

Almost everybody is. We can bring it down and list it so you can go through it at ground level, or in storage, rather than on your knees under a rafter. For a lot of households that is the difference between doing it and not.

Write and say so plainly. Your booking contract covers claims and the time limits on them, and we would far rather deal with it directly than leave you reading clauses on your own.
